How do you break the deadlock of trench warfare? Trapped in the industrial horror of the western front, the British high command are willing to try anything to break through. In the unrelenting violence of the First World War, an unlikely band of heroes tunnelled beneath the horror to try to help.

Tower Players presents a play by Cannock playwright Tom Allsopp, which brings to life this most unusual aspect of World War One. Though a work of fiction, the heroism and grit of the men of the tunnelling companies (many of whom came from the Cannock Chase area) and the courage of the families they left behind are all too real.
